Was Count Dooku (Darth Tyr) bad?
Ok, decent answers, but I can help clarify from a super-nerd perspective. Darth Tyr was bad, yes, but it does seem like he was going against Palpatine. The ENTIRE clone wars was orchestrated by Palpatine, in a successful attempt to destroy the Jedi and conquer the galaxy. Palpatine was in control of both sides. Before the wars, Palpatine sent his new ociate, Tyr, to Kamino to order a Clone army. As this happened, Palpatine gained power in the Republic. Palpatine and Maul caused the Trade Federation incident, then Maul died, allowing Tyr to become the new Apprentice. Dooku/Tyr formed the Confederacy of Independant Systems, bringing the Trade Federation, Baktoids, Banking Clans, and others into the Sith plot. The Clones are completed right as the CIS declares war. Tyr has early Death Star plans developed for Palpatine. The war gives new Chancelor Palpatine control. Tyranus captures Paplatine (that was the plan). Tyranus dies, Jedi destroyed, Vader reborn, Palpatine happy. All that to say, yes Tyranus was bad. Unless the Sith are truly the good guys, hmm? Think about that one
