Any ideas for turning a large dog crate into a comfortable home for my house rabbit?

I have a house rabbit and am fed up of his wooden outdoor hutch which smells no matter how much I clean it. So I'm buying a large dog crate for him instead, which will also give him a lot more space. Looking for ideas on how to convert it into a 2 level home, any pics appreciated!Also - the crate I'm getting comes with a metal divider (originally meant for separating 2 dogs). I would love to get a companion for my wee boy, as he's getting neutered this week, and I hate the thought of him being bored in his cage on his own while I'm out all day. I know rabbits have to be separated to start with and watched carefully. Would it be safe to keep them in same cage if it were divided like this to start with? I'd probably put a bit of plywood 3/4 height of cage up against divider to give them privacy but so they could poke their heads up to see each other if they wanted, until they got used to each other. I'd really appreciate the benefit of anyones experience on this. Thanks
